Magic Mouse tracking poorly and losing Bluetooth connectivity since Mountain Lion upgrade

I too am having the same issue with the mouse acting in a jittery fashion. This started when I updated to Mountain Lion. As for suggestions I do not have any since I'm still having the issue. Based on you saying you got a new mouse and are experiencing the same issue that shows a lot of potential for the issue to be Mountain Lion related. So far what I have to do is shut off the mouse and turn it back on. That usually works until it happens again. The frequency appears to be completely random for me. FYI, I don't think apple ever answers these forms (not that I have noticed). So, it may be best to send a compliant directly to them about the issue.

I have the same problem, the magic mouse is moving very jittery and it don't react if it is click. This started since I upgraded to mountain lion.

I've been calling Apple for a month about the same problem.

I replaced the mouse two weeks ago.

They are suggesting I replace it again.

The idiot on the phone suggested it was interfernce with: sprinkler system, microwave, Coke can in garage, metal tools in garage, tv remote, and other stupid crap that I've already forgotten because I was floored with his suggestions. He was just rattling off things that 'might' be causing the problem. Come on. Coke can? Tools? Please!!!

I have a Bluetooth trackpad, keyboard, and 10-key pad and they've never lost a connection in a month since getting the computer.

This is my first ever Mac computer.

Well my advice is to wait . I'm sure there are aware of this issue. It's nothing wrong with the mouse . Its a matter of connectivity over Bluetooth . I've been noticed something about Apple over the years : when there are a lot of complains about some " issue" they work around to fix it . Nothing is perfect even the Mountain Lion is great still has little flaws which there are corrected through periodic updates . Curios is only the mouse not the trackpad . It's just probably a code error I think. The geniuses on the phone they do as been told and trying to help , but this is software bug.

Be patience and by the way use the trackpad ( the mouse is good now only for design or special accuracy tasks).

Well , regarding of this issue i did some tests and i've reached to some conclusions to fix it.

Steps

1. turn off the magic mouse

2. remove batteries

3. put everything back and power on.

4. pair your mouse again if you remove it from the tab

5. leave the option discoverable marked down

6. add to favorite from bluetooth menu (you will see a red heart with yes 😉 )

7. should work for now

Test 1 : Mac mini 2010 with OSX Lion 10.7.4

Test 2 : MBA 2012 with OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.1

Conclusion : still have a bug not showing the right battery level (only 100%)but if you use "iStat" widget you will see the real level.

Magic mouse doesn't have, unfortunatelly the multipoint technology so if you use on multiple cpu in the same area can create instability (leave only one of a time and remove it from the bluetooth tab on other cpu)

Well like it worked for me . Working for the past 3 h and no issue . i have the magic mouse from 3 y ago and using rechargeable batterys .

My mouse only dies once every few days or week.

Its still has a software bug like i said earlier . Maybe they will fix it in the next update .

Steps

I have tested this small instruction set, but it didn't help. My mouse is moving jittery and it doesn't react to clicks. I have learned that if i restart my mac book pro it works for approximately 10 seconds, then it starts again.

This is really annoying.
