Q: Difference between Migration Assistant and Setup Assistant?

What is the difference between Migration Assistant and Setup Assistant?  Which do you use to transfer files and applications from and old intel iMac using Lion to a new 27" iMac with Mountain Lion?

Thank you.

Either will do that but Setup Assistant is preferable as it does not have to create an additional account.

Thank you.  Is there a Setup Assistant step by step document I can read?

Setup and Migration assistants are the same with 1 crucial difference, Setup assistant (as its name suggests) runs during the setup of a new computer, once you have set the machine up you will have to use Migration assistant which will mean that in addition to the user account you created during setup Migration assistant will add another. If you use Setup assistant (have the connection to the old machine established before you start) your account will be the only one on the machine. They transfer exactly the same things.
