I just installed Safari 6.0. Now my home page looks like it has been sliced to ribbons. What happened? It was perfect before the new install and it works fine on Firefox.

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.

Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.

From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Test. After testing, reboot as usual and post the results.

HI Gene ...

Try troubleshooting extensions and plugins. This is something you can try now.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any Extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.

If it's not an extension issue, back to Safari > Preferences. Now select the Security tab.

Deselect: Enable plug-ins

Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that made a difference, then you have one or more Safari add ons installed that's causing the graphics glitch. Troubleshooting help here.
