iChat can't log in

iChat can't log in

I use iChat almost everyday at school. Today when I tried to log in where it usually said online it said disconnected. When I clicked on it this popped up

I have not changed any settings and the password Im entering is correct. It just randomly started doing this. However my jabber list comes up perfectly and I have no problems. I am using a me.com name. My friend was able to get on hers as well with no problems when she found out mine wasnt working.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

HI,

What sort of @me.com account do you have ?

They can be from MobileMe accounts (up to the 30th June 2012)

They can later be from iCloud

MobileMe has been closed down now.

If you converted to an iCloud issued @me.com it will only work in iChat 6 and above (Messages Beta an Messages)

The Message that states that the Name OR the Password is incorrect normally means the password.

To work with the AIM servers this has to be 16 characters or less.
