How do I page up and down?

The spacebar to page down, shift spacebar to page up.

You can also use the "fn" key to modify the arrow keys:

fn+up = page up

fn+down = page-down

fn+left = top

fb+right = bottom

Use two fingers on your trackpad.

fn+shift+up = page up

fn+shift+down = page down

Seems like Mac laptops don't have true page up/down keyboard functions. Right now I'm working with a google spreadsheet with hundreds of rows and many columns as well. I need to be able to page up or down while selecting an entire column. I tried all the keyboard shortcuts suggested here but they all DESELECT/CHANGE my selection.

Still wondering if there are TRUE page up/down function on Mac laptops.

For going to a specific line/page it depends what program you are using to edit the files as the commands will differ from program to program, that isn't part of the terminal itself. What command are you using to open the file?

Ah, sorry, did only try it in Excel.

Maybe use the TWO FINGER SCROLLING gesture, it is not that far away from they keyboard, if do not want the current field to be deselected.

Btw, the same happens with an extended keyboard, the Page Down and Up keys go to a field page down or up, the previously selected field is deselected that way.
