Exactly the same here Mid-2011 Mac Mini now on Mountain Lion. Funny I thought it was just me until I saw these posts. Battery levels are nearly 70% on both trackpad and keyboard but the images comes up of keyboard being discsonnected yet in fairness it seems more like the trackpad. If i hit the power button on the trackpad it comes back. Images of keyboard comes up again and says connected. I changed batteries even at these levels but made no difference - probably happening about 4 to 5 times per day on average.

I'm having identical issues. I've got a new MacBook Air. First use was today and I'm already having issues.

The symptoms I've seen so far are:

- Magic Mouse won't recognise many first touches/clicks and I have to repeat to get the required action

- Bluetooth Keyboard will 'disconnect', appear connected and yet it doesn't work

- In Keynote, bluetooth keyboard and laptop keyboard will stop typing text, although I can still use Cmd+Tab to switch apps and they both type fine in the other app. This has happened repeatedly over the last hour, frustrating when you're trying to get a document done!

A quick scout of other discussions suggests that disconnecting Documents and Data from iCloud may solve this, I'm a DropBox user so I've done that and will now see if it resolves the issue.

Any other suggestions are welcome!

Deleting the documents and data did not work.

I've now found the issue to be within Keynote even though I have the latest version, every 2-3 actions, the keyboard and mouse stop responding unless I switch to another app. Very odd behaviour and also having a very large impact on productivity.

Got home with a new 2-Battery Keyboard (69.99 later) and the old one had dropped to 74% Since this morning. Put in Batteries from same package and new Keyboard paired right up and shows 100% Charge. Will let you know if it drains it later on as it will only take a few hours to show the drop in charge if it because the older keyboards are not compatible for some reason.

Seems the new hardware works fine, was on all night while still remaining at 100% battery life. Also did not notice before but seems my screensaver is kicking in where when I would power on the display after it idling it was not with the old hardware. Not what I would say is a happy solution seeing how many old bluetooth keyboards and mice I have but the new one seems to work for now.

Is it an older Keyboard? I had an original 3 Battery Aluminum keyboard and it was draining them to pieces, but when I went out and got a new 2 battery version it has been at 100% charge since I installed it several days ago. I did talk to an Apple Specialist and he told me they have changed the bluetooth hardware in the newer units, kind of like old Apple Airport to New Airport Extereme (as a refference only as this is completely different), both may be be wireless, but the new one uses completely different hardware and communication between them.
