Q: Why won't my Mac Book Pro from late 2009 support AirPlay?

I don't understand why my mac book pro won't support airplay with Mountain Lion.  When I first installed ML, it showed up, and then when I restarted the next time it was gone.

Is this another example of walls within the apple walled garden to force me to upgrade? or is there a legitimate technical reason?

OS X Mountain Lion

Most likely because Apple found that computers without second generation Intel Core processors delivered less than satisfactory results. There is a commercial product called Airparrot that provides this functionality, but many complaints about lag, etc. You can try Airparrot, but if the experience is less than satisfactory, you'll have your answer.

    Thanks wjosten,

So this means my 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is not as good as the processor in my Ipad 2 or Iphone 4S?  They both mirror fine through my Apple TV.

    Thanks
