Aug 2, 2012 7:59 AM in response to Nana cathy63by renstarr,Probably the apps you're missing has been modified or removed by the developer and these are the reasons why some apps, songs or movies are not available for redownload. Or you might be signed in the wrong account that's why you're not seeing your purchases (if you have multiple accounts).

Aug 2, 2012 8:10 AM in response to renstarrby Roberto113,No. It affects all the apps. I can see them just fine in the purchased section of my iPhone when logged in with the same appleID. Many other people are having the same problem. See this thread.

Nov 8, 2015 12:38 PM in response to Nana cathy63by JS1957,Hi,
It's some time now since this post, but I had the same problem, and came here to try and find out what to do. Solved it! After "losing" all my purchase history on my App Store, I discovered that my iPad had somehow decided to try logging in to Apple's US App Store, not the UK one. As I had no App purchases from the US App Store, it was showing a blank purchase history. I reverted to the UK App Store by typing one of my lost App names into the search, and then tried to buy it, at which point Apple's system refused to let me buy from the US Store, and turned me back to the UK Store. As soon as the iPad was logged to the UK Store, Hey Presto, all my previous purchases re-appeared on the Previous Purchase screen. Don't you just love it! Not.
