ethernet card disappeared

My ethernet card has disappeared.

Macbook Pro 1260

MacBookPro4,1

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

Processor Speed: 2.6 GHz

Can anyone help?

Please explain how you know that your ethernet card has disappeared?

In System Information under Ethernet Cards it reads,

"This computer does not appear to have any PCI Ethernet cards installed."

Then it has died. Problem is to replace it you have to replace the complete Logic board which is very expensive.

If you have Sophos, uninstall it and reboot.
