Multiple problems with Ipod touch 4th gen and iTunes?

I'm using a PC and I've had my Ipod touch for 2 days. My Ipod isn't recognized by PC, and iTunes freezes every time I plug my ipod in. I've tried using Home Share with another computer, but it won't load my library on the other computer. It just loads for a few seconds, then goes to the other computer's library I've tried uninstalling as well, but iTunes freezes in the middle of the uninstalling process. This has become extremely frustrating, since i tried rebooting it and my songs got deleted off of my ipod, and most of the songs in my library aren't from itunes. is there any way to help this?
