Apple mail auto cc's myself when I reply all after installing ML, how do I stop this annoyance?

I installed Mountain Lion and when I use apple mail now and reply all, it automatically will put my email address in the CC field.

My preferences have this turned off, but it still does this....

Any idea what to do to stop this annoyance ?

Help me!

I had this problem. I solved it by going to Preferences then the email account that had the problem. There's a drop down in the Account Information window (the default display once you click on your email account) titled Alias. Make sure the email address listed is your email address and not a .me or .icloud address or some other alias address. I had a .me alias. Once I eliminated that by selecting my actual email address everything was fixed.

I think I'm having an "a-ha!" moment thanks to doug38.

But it needs a bit of clarification: You need to edit your iCloud account.

Go to PREFERENCES.

Choose ACCOUNTS

Click on your iCLOUD account.

There is a dropdwon menu for Aliases- Choose CUSTOM.

Enter your preferred reply-from email address.

Note how that address should slide to the top of the account lists.

If Doug38 is right, that should do the trick!

You do realize that when you "reply to all" your email address is one of the original recipients don't you? What happens is that the sender's address is in the "To:" field and all others are in the "cc:" field. The setting you refer to is there to auto cc you when you send an email, but does not filter the list of email addresses when you "reply to all".
