Can you update the iOS on an unlocked iphone 4s?

I recently bought an ulocked 4s from an Apple store and I want to know if I can update the iOS when the new one comes out. Can someone help me with this?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1, Unlocked

Sure, why do you think you wouldn't be able to? If officially unlocked, your phone will remain unlocked. Nothing to worry about.

Unless it is not "officially" unlocked by a carrier in which case you would be reverted to factory settings for that carrier.
