15" Macbook Pro with or without Retina?
I finally decided to get a new MacBook Pro in a few weeks and now I can't decide between the Retina Display or the regular MacBook Pro. I use my macbook for personal use, photo editing (not professionally but I do use Adobe Lightroom & CS5 programs), MS Office, and general everyday use. Suggestions? These are the two configurations I'm considering, but am open to opinions to change the configurations:
15" MacBook Pro
$2,399
- 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
- 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
- 1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
- SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
- MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Antiglare Widescreen Display
15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display
$2,999
- 2.6GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
- 16GB 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
- 512GB Flash Storage
Is it worth the extra $600 for the Retina (which coincidently is how much I will be selling my current MacBook Pro for)? If so, why?
Mac OS X (10.7.4)
