Q: fcp-7 and xdcam timeline

I am working with Sony XDCAM EX footage am wanting to end up with a ProRes 422 timeline.  About a third of my footage is shot with GoPros that have a H264 codex.  Should I use a ProRes 422 timeline or XDCAM EX 30P timeline.  And use the compressor to convert the H264 footage?

Convert the GoPro footage to ProRes, and use a ProRes timeline.  Don't try to use the GoPro footage native, especially in an XDCAM timeline. It has to be converted.  And when mixing formats, always use a ProRes timeline.
