When i go look at About This Mac it says i have 281.58GB of other when it should be audio. can anyone help?

What extension is your Audio, perhaps OSX is assuming MP4 or such only.
the Audio file i have are MP4, MP3, m4a.
Are they all in your Music folder, or elsewhere... thinking may that's what it checks for Audio???

Ah, is the external the Drive you're booting from... seems that's it.
But is Macintosh HD where iTunes is set to use, or the External drive?
I'm using Macintosh HD for all my iTunes file so all my iTunes is set to use only the Macintosh HD it is not getting it from the External drive. the External drive is just my backup drive it has a backup of my iTunes on it as you can see in the photo cause it says it has the right amount of audio.
Hmmmm, do you suppose you could have 11.8 MB of unique/new Music on your boot drive, & it just count Music files once on he first place it finds them???
Will have to try this at home later tonight to see what mine says, though I dread booting into 10.8.
It was like this on 10.7 as well. It started going like this ever since i done a system recovery. before then it was fine and showed the right amount of audio. also when i done the recovery it only shows that i have one cpu in activity monitor but when i click on the cpu chart it shows me the right amount. so it could have something to do with apples recovery system?

LOl, I guess Apple has gone off the deep end, here's my report for an incredible 500+ Music Folders, just one being 18.2 GB, anbd it only reports 3 of 7 drives that show in the Finder!!!???
EasyFind3 finds 33,765 .mp3s on these attached drives!???
Ok so its not just me that is having this problem... hope apple fixes it soon.
Well, truth be told, I don't think they fix anything in an OS, they make a new paid OS that fixes it & breaks ten other things & may require buying a new Mac to run it. 😟
