Powerbook 165 Issue

I have a Powerbook 165. When I put a floppy drive in it (Disk Tools Startup Disk and every other one) it makes a loud sound and ejects the disk with a graphic of a floppy disk with a flashing "x".

There is an issue with the internal hard drive so I need a startup disk!

Any help?

Sean,

Under your other topic, you mentioned a plan to buy System 7.0.1 (which is not supported for use with the PowerBook 165).

If you are using a 7.0.1 Disk Tools disk, that could be the problem. At least System 7.1 AND System Enabler 131 would be required for the PB 165. You could also use the downloadable Network Access Disk 7.5 (no enabler needed here).

An issue with the floppy drive cannot be ruled out.
