If I buy logitech z506 speakers, I can connect my iphone 4s through it via a dock correct?

analog audio is analog audio
you can connect them without using a dock if you want
but iphone's don't do 5.1 surround so don't expect sound from rear speakers
That doesn't make sense? I don't understand how sound wouldn't come through "rear" speakers. I guess I don't really understand the point of a dock for an iPhone then either
a dock will often charge a phone and make it upright
unless audio is digital then to to feed 5.1 audio using all channels you'd need a mini jack with 12 rings rather then the 3 normal ones have
