Aug 2, 2012 9:59 PM in response to gm_jimmyby sberman,I see that model appears not to be listed in Apple's supported printers.
Here's the general statement how to set up printers under Lion and Mountain Lion: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4670

Aug 2, 2012 10:20 PM in response to gm_jimmyby sberman,When you say "I was able to find it in the list of printers ..." I think you mean a snow leopard list. If not, you can get it all set up by running software update as described in the article.
Recall OS X Lion came out in July 2011 and superceded Snow Leopard. Now OS X is up to Mountain Lion. So Apple drops support for some printers along the way.
Again, assuming you meant you found your printer in a Snow Leopard (and not Mountain Lion) list, maybe the canon website can offer suggestions.

Oct 5, 2012 5:28 PM in response to gm_jimmyby Mountainview100,hi,
. I had the simalar problems of my HP b209a-m printer not being seen on my wireless network> I found this post at HP discussion and it worked!
These instructions are for HP printers but If you can reset your printer back to factory setting and find Printer IP the general solution looks to be helpful
1. On the printer navigate to the Wireless or Network menu.
2. Select Restore Defaults.
3. On your computer look for a wireless network named 'hpsetup' and connect to it.
4. Print a Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer to see its IP address. (on my b209a-m Printer the IP info was found by pressing the Wireless Icon)
5. Type the IP address into the address bar of a web browser to see the printer's internal settings.
6. Click on the Network tab and look for the Wireless Setup Wizard and run it.
7. The Passphrase is the password you use on your wireless connection.
8. Now change the network name on your computer back to your wireless network.
The printer will now be connected to your network. With your computer back to your network , re-add the printer from System Preferences.
Hope this works--- it did for me.
