Reading list has disappeared

Hi,

My reading list has disappeared following an update, meaning I have lost much valuable information and links. When I try to open the reading list, a blank wall appears where it used to be. When I have more than one tab open, the reading list column appears as a garbled version of the open webpage.

I am virtually computer illiterate so please use basic language in your reply!

Thanks!

Try deleting the cache associated with Safari.

Quit Safari.

Then open the Finder. (You do this by clicking the Finder icon User uploaded filein your Dock).

Then from the Finder menu bar (top of your screen), click Go > Go to Folder

Type this exactly has you see it here: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Relaunch Safari. See if that made a difference.

By the way. If you use iCloud to sync Safari Bookmarks (also syncs the Reading LIst) and deleting the Cache.db didn't help, open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Safari, then reselect it. Since iCloud syncs via Wi-Fi, it can take a minute or two for Bookmarks and the Reading List to re populate.

I HAVE THE SIMPLEST ANSWER TO REMOVE THE INTRUSIVE READING LIST.....

Go to Safari preferences- open bookmarks, click on the Reading list box so a tick appears. Close preferences.

The nasty reading list panel will be there on your browser.

Top left on the top toolbar is the reading list icon - clicl on that and the reading list disappears

Click again and it re-appears.

Sorted.

Clever, ennit?
