Safari and SSL or https pages slow

My Safari was working fine with SSL pages, then it started to load them slow.

I tried resetting everything all the cache and setting, removed extentions.

So, I wanted to reset safari as if it was just installed, but I can't figure out how to do that.

When I load a page that is not SSL it is fast, but when I go to a page that is using SSL, it takes a long time.

I tested the page in Chrome and it is fast.

for example, my facebook page will take over a minute to load in Safari, in Chrome it takes seconds.

Does anyone know how to completely reset Safari?

Thanks,

Mountain Lion Safari 6 definitely is having SSL resolve issues. Safari 6 is also heating up the CPU on my 27in iMac. When I quit Safari, my iMac ceases having its heat stroke.

Firefox 14 does not. It also has a free plug-in that allows the in-address-bar search – The best new feature of Safari 6.

FF is very fast under Mountain Lion... no slower than Safari.

I hope Apple posts a 10.8.x update soon and cools this iMac graphic processor down. It is doubling as a George Foreman Grill at the moment.

It may be tied to the user account.

I created a new account and it is very fast.

So, it seems the solution is to create a new account and migrate everything to the new account.

This is very intrusive and many users will not be willing to do this task.

Somehow, it must have currupted something in the user account settings.

If they had an easier way to reset safari completely, that may be a better solution. And when I say reset I mean start as if you just installed it with nothing set.
