Q: Gathering Application Windows with Multiple Displays 10.8
To manage multiple displays in previous versions of Mac OS, you were able to look at all displays' content just by viewing Spaces. A single button to drag and drop between Spaces and Displays. Very helpful for workflow.
Now that Spaces has been totally integrated into Mission Control and it functions quite a bit differently, you are unable to view EVERY display's content from each display.
For a three display setup, it used to look like this:
Nice! This usability would allow you to drag and drop between Spaces (now known as Desktops) as well as drag and drop from monitor to monitor. It was extremely useful for when you work with projectors or you use a laptop in clamshell mode with an external display. Does anyone know how to bring this functionality back? I certainly prefer the new aesthetic of Desktops in 10.8, but this is a huge loss for me as a video designer.
I know there are scripts and external applications that 'Gather All Application Windows' across multiple displays, but I do not want to incur any extra overhead to achieve this simple task -- and it was so awesome to have it built right in to the Operating System. That being said, if anyone knows of a lightweight + free work around, I'm open to it.
Best solution I know of at this point is accessing your computer via screen share and that way you can see all the displays spanned across the screen share window. Kind of annoying...
