I have had my Ipod Touch 3rd gen for 2 years now. As of about a month ago (regardless of the headphones used), I seem to only get full sound produced when the headphones are held into the Ipod. Obviously this is an incovenience as I don't particularly want to have to use this method any time that I wish to listen to music.
Could anyone suggest ways to solve this problem?

- Do nothing
- Use bluetooth headphones instead
- Replace the jack yourself. Not easy for a 3G
- Have a third-party place like the following replace the jack

hey my ipod 4th gen headphone jack is messing up like i have to pull the headphones out almost all the way to get a good sound can some one help me with this. do i have to replace the hole thing or can i fix it
What you're discribing sounds like a short. Did you try another set of headphones with this iPod? Did the problem continue or stop? if it stopped the problem is the headphones throw them away and get a new pair. If the problem is still there go with Illaass suggestions. Good Luck.
