No Sleep Option in Windows 7
I just got a new MacBook Pro with Retina display and bootcamped it with Windows 7 Professional. After running windows update, there were some issues with the keyboard and there was no sleep option in the power management settings.
I repaired the bootcamp drivers from the DVD I had burned and that fixed both problems.
After that I started having problems where the computer wouldn't wake from sleep. Sometimes it would make noice and the capslock light would go on and off, but the only way to get the display to turn on was to plug in an external display or turn off the computer.
Most of the time the computer wouldn't sleep at all and would just shut down. When restarting windows, I would be offered the option to start in safe mode and after logging in, I had a message that windows had not been properly shut down.
Today, after booting into windows, I no longer had the sleep option in the shutdown menu or power management. I tried running the repair from my bootcamp drivers DVD again, but it didn't restore the sleep option.
I'm guessing this is a driver or firmware problem. Has anyone managed to fix it?
