Anyone experiencing problem of Mail for Mountain Lion automatically checking for email when it's set to check only manually?

Here's the feedback I just submitted to Apple about this:

Mac Mail in Mountain Lion keeps checking automatically when it's set to "Manual"

Very frustrating. Just started happening after I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I've double-checked all of my settings for my POP email accounts, and ensured that in every email account, I've gone into the Advanced tab and unchecked "Include when automatically checking for new messages" (even though I shouldn't have to do this as my General setting for Check for new messages is set to "Manually", yet it continues to happen. A real pain... I have to remember to quit Mail every time I leave my computer, otherwise I won't get my emails on my iPhone, or if I do, they'll quickly disappear once my computer downloads them via mail.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

This is not really an answer to your question, but you can avoid this problem if you use an IMAP account rather than a POP account.

With an IMAP account, messages are left on the server until deleted so that they're available on all your devices.

Yes, good idea and if they don't fix it soon, I may have to do this. I hate IMAP though because then I have to go through the task of reviewing my emails and figuring out which ones to delete on my iPhone and then once again, go through the same process on my computer for those very same emails. Here's hoping they get to this sooner rather than later!

Not true at all.

Deleting a message on one device deletes from all your devices.

IMAP is by far and away the best solution for managing mail on multiple devices.
