Is there a way to use the new Outlook.com on my iPhone and iPad?

if they have a pop or imap setup for it then just configure those settings under a "Other" account in mail. Simple.

You can access a Hotmail account as an Exchange account with iOS devices which includes syncing Hotmail contacts and calendar events over the air.

its no longer hotmail. outlook.com will have a different setup entirely now. won't even run on the same mail servers anymore.

Apparently Hotmail users are having success by deleting their existing mail account on iOS, updating their Hotmail account to Outlook.com, then re-adding their account to iOS using the Hotmail profile in Settings.

Yes, but after the implementation of full outlook.com that MS is planning its going to have a whole different setup.

Mac OSX Mail now automatically sets things up automatically on the iphone just use the hotmail option and substitute with @outlook.com in login. If it doesn't work to manually do it: for the incoming server use pop3.live.com and outgoing server use smtp.live.com signing in with the name/password you create.

Doesn't matter if it is Hotmail, LiveMail, or Outlook.com, all can be accessed as an Exchange account with the the iOS Mail app.
