Yes to both of your questions.
Thank you for confirming that Apple's instructions are inaccurate. I will see if I can update the "User Tip" to indicate that you have refuted Apple's claim that QT 7 Pro key information is available at the Apple Online Store Account area. Recommend you provide QT feedback regarding this issue to try and get this problem fixed.
Apple obviously has no ability to test the changes made nor to validate processes before implementing them. As a reference, I am a Quality Engineer in the Medical Device industry and we don't allow anyone to implement anything that is not proven. Apple apparently is not interrested in that philosopny. Waiting indeed....
As a fellow user, I too am disappointed by your revelation. Had assumed the information was accurate but was not willing to purchase yet another key just for the privilege of checking the accuracy of their instructions.
Within 18 months?
I have noticed recently that many of the sources from which I regularly make purchases now have an 18 month limitation on accessing purchase information. Am beginning to wonder if they may be outsourcing this function to some sort of commercial service.
You have to be kidding: are you a college kid?
No, I am on the high side of retirement but to have multiple degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and various artificial/natural languages... if that helps.
