Aug 11, 2012 10:26 AM in response to Baby Boomer (USofA)by xjebrialx,Yeah this kb article doesnt really address the issue. It isnt a problem with isight. its an issue with photobooth. Also, the second article you sourced is incredibly outdated.

Aug 11, 2012 10:34 AM in response to xjebrialxby smogfalls, yep, and this thread had the most relevent first post. When I checked the related threads, there weren't quite as relevant to my particular problem as this one was/is.
Cheers

Aug 13, 2012 7:45 AM in response to Singerman13by btbowen,I have this problem too. I have already done the resetting of those technical things by shutting the MacBook Pro down and starting it up again holding keys down, and just now I reset permissions, but in fact after resetting permissions the audio is more out of synch than ever - like 2-3s off! It's a PhotoBooth thing for me too. I use this to compose... help!

Aug 13, 2012 6:36 PM in response to Singerman13by dylangw, related posts were no help, and it isnt iSight, I've never had this issue before Mountain Lion.

Aug 14, 2012 7:31 AM in response to Singerman13by EZ Jim,Singerman13:
First check that your hard disk is not getting full.
Then, if restarting Mac and recording again with ONLY your Photo Booth app open doesn't fix the problem, see if something from one of these previous threads re: audio sync helps you:

Aug 17, 2012 7:20 AM in response to Singerman13by Tannubyky,I use photo booth very frequently. I did not have this issue until I too upgraded to mountain lion.
I shall be trying all of the 'resets' recommended in various posts but I have yet to see anyone reply with a "that worked" so I'm not too hopeful (but I'll post again if it does work.)
In the meantime I have been using iMovie to edit my photobooth films... I import the photobooth film, drag and drop it in my project. Turn the sound off of it, then drag and drop the film AGAIN (on top of itself) as an "audio only" then edit and drag the audio portion around until it matches up. It's not a fix, but a temporary solution if you're in a hurry and can't use something else.

Aug 20, 2012 4:14 AM in response to Tannubykyby smogfalls,Would be interested to hear if anyone has found a solution to this.
This is getting ridiculous for me now and is affecting the audio sync of everything from movies, to youtube videos! My 2011 iMac has plenty of HDD space left aswell as a healthy amount of RAM and this has only started to happen since upgrading to Mountain Lion. I'm very disappointed with the complete lack of Apple Support on this issue. It's clearly an issue related directly to Mountain Lion, and it's a big issue for me... not something I can simply ignore.
Thanks,
Alex

If you are still under warranty or have Apple Care, call them. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.
