Vmware 4.0 Upgrade Slower Than 3.1.1 on Snow Leopard?
I. e., should I upgrade my VMware version? I have a 2006 MBP, so I don't believe I can go to Lion.

Yes VMFusion 4.0 is slower than the previous version and they won't issue updates to previous versions any longer.
Use the free VirtualBox instead. 10.7 Lion will cripple your machine, so will 10.8 so stick with 10.6.8 as long as you can.
