Kernal panic when shutting down

I've had 3 kernal panics in the past week when shutting down my macbook pro. Its a mid 2012 macbook pro with mountain lion. Here is the report log [which is the same for all 3 panics]

The panic is caused by the "Avast" crapware. Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions, and never install any commercial "anti-virus" product again.

Note that, though Linc is certainly correct about Avast, and about many other anti-virus programs, his is an extreme sentiment that, like most extreme sentiments, is not entirely accurate. Some Mac anti-virus software is quite well behaved, such as ClamXav and Sophos. Whether you need it or not is not for someone else to tell you. You should let your personal tastes, behaviors and requirements dictate whether you use anti-virus software, within the framework of an educated protection plan.
