How do I import videos that have been taken on a still camera?

How do I import videos that have been taken on a camera and that has been imported into aperture? they don appear when I click on the 'photo' icon which shows me my files in aperture.

You should see Aperture Videos (or iPhoto Videos) in the Event Column.

I can see the aperture videos now in the event column on the left hand side, but another issue has arisen, I am not able to see any of the videos form Aperture, imovie is telling me that there is 'no matching video, choose a different option from the show pop-up menu'. how do I get my Aperture videos now?
