Q: My ipad2 suddenly quit working.

It's fully charged but won't turn on.  I've tried restoring it but I get an error 28 so I removed my security settings but still nothing.  The Apple logo comes on and the line to show progress appears but then they go away.  I've tried holding the sleep/wake and home buttons but still nothing.  I (re) registered the iPad2 because it didn't show in the list even though i show it was backed up in May of this year.  Any other suggestions?

    In regards to error 28.

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.

Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

Ok thanks.  I've tried the troubleshooting security software issues and still no luck.  I'll try AppleCare - I appreciate your quick response.  I have an iPad first generation and have had no problems with updating or restoring it when necessary, and this whole process has been very frustrating for me.
