how to use the dictionary application for simplified Chinese?

Among the 200 new features in Mountain Lion there are new dictionaries for several languages. I downloaded the dictionary app from the App Store and found how to use it for English searches. I control click on a word in a text and get the dictionary entry. When I tried the same with a Chinese text, highlighted some characters a control click did not find the dictionary entry for it. When I went to a Chinese website and highlighted some characters, control click did not produce a translation nor a dictionary entry. Can any one help me on this?
