I was beating my head against the wall. I get very frustrated with Apple insisting on taking all their users thru their pathways such as iphoto assuming that it's what every user wants. It's a long way around the bard often, clumsy and not pragmatic for the professional user. Comparing to WIndows which has none of this sort of thing.

With iPhone PC suite, you can transfer all the photos and pictures in Camera Roll, Photo Library (transferred from your computer to iPhone) and other apps to your computer or external hard drive.

The best way is to simply click on the device in My Computer and then copy the pictures onto the external.

I don't know why everyone gets on the iPhoto train and apps and various other ways. It's a very simple process that is being made more complicated for apparent reason.

Quick question: I have Windows 7, 64 bit and an I-Phone 5 with IOS Version 6.1.4. I haven't updated to IOS 7 because I've heard so many people tell me they've got lots of glitches with it. I'm trying to save my Camera Roll to my laptop and have connected my phone to the laptop. I was able to use Auto Play to import the pictures to my laptop, but I don't see any Safely Remove Hardware icon so I can unplug my I-Phone. Is it safe to simply unplug the phone from the USB port? I've searched Google and here, but most of the answers are not current...I want to make sure I don't lose any pictures or corrupt any data. Thanks in advance

You can safely unplug the phone. The only place that I click before unplugging the phone is in iTunes. I have never clicked on the Windows safely remove hardware icon and I have never had any issues with the phone or data.

It is so easy to transfer photos from iphone to external hard drive. You can have a try call MobiKin Assistant for iOS. Google it.

I was trying to use photos to get my pictures onto my external hard drive and it kept hanging up while importing, I googled how to import photos from iPhone to external hard drive and it led me to this, and saved me hours of frustration.
