I have lots of pages compsed of photos and text, and I'm ready for links. I've hyperlinks between the home page and several others and got curious about rollover anf been-there colors. I knows to double click to highlight on a word of text (already a hyperlink or not), but in the link format menu I can't make colors appear in the rectangular blanks for rollover, etc. What am I doing worong?
Click on a blank, open the color window - Shift/Command/C - and choose your color.
Sorry about my typing above! By "choose your color" you simply mean click on it, right? Nope, the blank is still white. Like your shortcut for pulling up the palette though.
Make sure you have highlighted the text that is to be the hyperlink and also the box associated with the color - normal, rollover or visited.
Yes the text is highlighted and the color menu live, but I get no life from the link format menu, rollover etc., remain white. I can change the highlighted text color from the one selected for the webpage using the color menu directly, but not using the link/format menu. It's lifeless - for want of a better word.
Try the troubleshooting steps under "Fix iWeb" here...
Click or double click on the normal color box to select it and the color wheel will appear. Select you color and the normal color box should change accordingly. Repeat for the other 3 options.

Roddy: I went through the procedures on the iWeb for Musicians site up to and inclucing the disk utility and still get no action on the links.format menu. Any further thoughts? I appreciate your help!
What version of OS X are you using and what version of iWeb?
Is this the first site you have built with the app?
The Mac is 10.7.4 and iWeb s 3.0.4. And yes, this is the first site I have built with the app. Curiously, and have a Macbook Pro w/ iWeb, same versions as the iMac and same issue when I set up text to link and set rollover color etc.
If you mean that you installed iWeb from the same source as on the other Mac then that could be the problem.
Hmmm. Yes. But wasn't iWeb part of iLife and came with the machines?
Maybe, depends if you bought an update form '08 0r '09. You should have two disks with your Mac and one has iLife on it. If you still have them, you could try re-installing.
Ok, Roddy, I reinstalled the apps to the MB Pro. However, I think my problem was that I had not enabled the text as a link because I didn't want the underlining. Accepting that and I could get the text to take colors indicating rollover etc. Does the underlining go away at some point in the building process? Like at Publishing? Is it just htere to indicate that it's enabled?
Underline goes away by deselecting the U next to each color bar.
How do I get colors in the hyperlink format menu?
