I am really stumped here. I am running up to date Mountain Lion on my Mid 2011 iMac, I have a third gen apple tv on same network as my iMac, everything is configured properly for Airplay Mirroring on it, but I get no Airplay Mirroring menu option on my menu bar. On my new (Mid 2012) Macbook Air, I get the menu option and it works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you restarted AppleTV and the computer?
I have a similar problem I've been able to get ApplyTV to work, but it suddenly drops out, & the icon disappears from the laptop (MacBook Pro). I have no idea what's going on. Any tips would be appreciated.
Reinstalling mountain lion from the app store corrected this issue for me! Worth a try!
