and they can connect fine with the wifi? Have you taken the Mac to a place with wifi (cafe/restaurant etc) to see if it works there?

Yes. They have no problems. They are all on PCs. My Kindle Fire works fine. I seem to remember having some issues with Comcast and MAC when I lived in Philadelphia a few years ago. I have no other problems connecting to any other wireless networks. I am using Safari as a browser. Could that be an issue?
