concerned about loss of battery life on mountain lion
MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion
describe in detail.
I have a 2011 Macbook Air 1.6 i5 128gb SSD 11 inch
I was running Snow Leopard and used to get around 5-8hrs battery, then I moved to Lion and was still getting 6-7hrs battery life. 3 days ago did a fresh install (wiped my hard drive completely), and now only get 2 hrs approx.
The OS is working fine and I love it, but the battery life issue is severe, that i can no longer use it for journey or around the office.
I am looking to wipe again and move to Lion, but need to know when Apple may release a fix and if I should just wait a little longer.
I also upgraded to Mountain Lion on my MacBook Air which I recently bought and the battery life is less than 3 hours now. Before I upgraded I was able to use my MacBook Air for the whole day. What happened? Can I go back to the previous one?
Same thing on my 2010 MacBook Pro.
Look at all the "More Like This" discussions to the right. Apple is aware of the problem and engineers have been contacting some of the folks who are posting so they are working on a 'fix' - whether it will be an OS X 10.8.1 patch or some other type of patch, I don't know. But the problem spans the realm of MBP models - from the newest 2012 model back to 2008 models able to run Mountain Lion.
Just check out the other discussions and don't expect too many to reply to this one - there's no answer yet and all who are having the problem are just waiting on Apple.

Same story on my 2012 MBA, IMpatiently waiting for apple to fix this.
Thanks, i'm not alone, MBP.
If i wan't to use it after 4 days standby the battery was empty.
Even after 10.8.2 no improvement, so I've now downgraded to Lion, where battery-life is back to normal...
For all:
the fix for me was the following commands. I was able trace it to the citrix receiver process tagging the cpu and subsequently draining the battery in record times...I couldn't kill the process in activity monitor, had to run this:
sudo launchctl unload -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.citrix.agadminservice.plist
After i did this, the fan went silent, temp went down and batter life is back to 6+ hours like it is supposed to be!
Hope this helps.
Fan was constantly running , batt life poor , this morning stopped charging, so what i did :
3 x resetting the p-ram.
my mid 2010 MBP suddenly went quiet, wonder what battery will do when its finally charged up again
