Cannot view all photo folders in windows explorer

I have a problem viewing photos on a pc with my iPod Photo 60 gb.

The model is an M9830X in Windows format.

I have been travelling for 7 months and by using my ipod camera adapter, i copy all my photos to the ipod directly. This works fine.

On the ipod it lists 52 folders under the ´photo import´ library. However when I connect the ipod to a windows computer (98, xp, 2000) and browse with windows explorer to the folders that hold the actual photos, it only lists up to folder 48. Somehow the next 4 folders have dissapeared, or are invisible! Oh no!

I have tried uploading more photos to it, and sure enough, it creates a new folder and on the ipod lists the folder and through the ipod I can view my photos but on the computer, the folders simply do not exist past number 48, even though there are 52 or more folders! wierd...

A bit of background information... I like to fiddle and stupidly, tried to change the folder names, so on the ipod, instead of simply saying a number, it will say ´Argentina´ for example. After I did this to folder 48, all the folders after it dissapeared (but only when browsing on the pc, they are still visible on the ipod itself)

So I moved all the photos from folder 48 to folder 47, then deleted folder 48 (through windows explorer, thinking I could delete any corruption to stop it showing the other folders) however the problem remains.

I think it has something to do with the data files in each folder, which hold the name information, but the one i modified, has been deleted (I do this often and re arrange my photos and it has never been a problem) So even with the possibly corrupt folder 48 deleted, i still cant view folders past this one!

Any help would be great. Wiping the ipod is not an option. As i am travelling and have 7000 songs and 7 months of photos - about 30gb worth.

I think it has something to do with the data files, and possibly updating the firmwarm viersion would help, providing this doesnt delete anthing?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
