Reminders-sort order of tasks does not sync

I'm trying to use Reminders on my iPhone 4s, iMac running Mountain Lion and iCloud. Although syncing does occur BETWEEN THESE 3 APPS,

THE SORT ORDER OF THE TASKS IS COMPLETELY OUT OF SYNC. I need to sort my many to do tasks manually as priorities change

daily. Therefore it's important to have the sort order (sequence of task items) sync across these devices. I imagine many users would agree with this.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion

I'm having exactly the same problem, which is especially difficult because you can't manually change the order of tasks in the iOS Reminders app. I've isolated the problem: The Mountain Lion Reminders app syncs all tasks correctly to iCloud, but not the order of those tasks after manually changing the task order in the Mountain Lion Reminders app. I know that the iCloud task order is wrong because if I turn off iCloud Reminders sync in my iPhone or iPad (both updated OS) and answer "yes" to deleting local Reminders data, then turn iCloud Reminders sync back on in the same devices, the reminders task come back but in the same wrong order as before. So the fault lies in task order syncing between Mountain Lion's Reminders app and iCloud.

If Apple Support is watching this, could you please let us know if and when this might be fixed? It's will be a very useful app when it is working correctly. Oh yes-- sorting based on priority (or other ways) would also be nice.

Here's an update: On my Mountain Lion mac, I turned off iCloud's syncing for Calendars and Reminders, then answered "Yes" to deleting local calendar and reminders data from my mac. Then I turned it back on (iCloud "calendars and reminders" on my mac) and the reminders came back from iClould to my mac in the correct task order. So the issue appears to be that my updated iOS 5 devices (new iPad and iPhone 4) aren't reading the correct task order from iCloud. Interestingly, they seem to be getting the initial order that the tasks were entered, but if I make any changes on my mac to the order of tasks, these new order changes aren't reflected in my iOS5 devices.

With Mountain Lion, Reminders no longer resembles a task-management (to-do) app in any way. I used to be able to limp along using it for my to-dos (although it never did accommodate this need well). This upgrade has made Reminders completely unusable for task management.

Once I got over my disappointment, I did some research and decided to try "Things." This application has all the functionality I've been wanting all along. It has a Mac version, an iPhone version, and an iPad version (among others)--and it keeps all devices synched via the Cloud (just not the iCloud ... but who needs the i ?). I wish I'd discovered it years ago. I'm glad now that Mountain Lion put Reminders over the edge; otherwise, I would not have made this discovery.

"Things" (oddly named though it is) comes close to the old Franklin planner software I used to love and haven't been able to find a substitute for. It can import items from Reminders, and it works with Siri. It's a joy to use, and it does everything I want it to do plus some things I never thought of and will use all the time. I downloaded the free trial version last night and within an hour paid for it with gratitude.

Just discovering for myself that re-ordering reminders can be achieved - but order is not synced between devices or shared accounts. Which is to say it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

For the record, I have thrown the equivalent of a message in a bottle to feedback - an action for which I believe the acronym is CWOT.

Also, it seems there's a thing called customer quality feedback...
