You can only open one window at a time but you can open additional tabs. Tap on the + sign in the upper right part of the Safari toolbar to open another tab.
Sorry, thought you were talking about the iPad since that is where you ended up.
Go to File>New Window or use the key command "N+command key". You can open additional tabs by clicking on this key.
Choose New Tab or New Window from the File menu as desired.

So, can you have more than one Safari tab open on the iPad? Or is there a way to minimize and open another? Looking for a way to have a site for streaming radio on and still being able to browse the web, or go to other sites while listening to the streaming radio station.
Dot Rock,
This is an iMac forum!, IOS and OS X are totally different operating systems. Please refer to:
https://discussions.apple.com/community/ipad/using_ipad
for questions on how to use your iPad.
If you right click the page/tab you want opened as a second browser, select "Move tab to new windows" it then opens as a second browser.
It may not be necessary to reply to a 4 year old post. 😎
Maybe not, however, it might be useful to somebody in the future who doesn't know how to, to be able to find the answers here, since I couldn't. 😮
I suppose. Of course "New Window" or "New Tab" in the File menu should be a clue. Or looking at Safari Help from the Help Menu. All browsers I know of behave the same as Safari.
