My DVD wont burn?

I keep getting a "compiler file error, build cancelled" when I try and burn. When I simulate it plays fine in DVD Studio Pro4. Any advice on how to trouble shoot what is wrong? I've used compressor to export my files from final cut 6.0.6. In compressor I choose DVD best quality 90 minutes , mpeg2 and AC3 audio. I am working on a Mac OS x 10.7.4, intel core i5.

Any advice? Thank you!

Final Cut Studio '09, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

My initial thought was your project was inadvertently set to HD, but DVDSP will stand aside, let us proceed down that path and not give us the kind of warnings you received.

Try a new project with the same m2v and Ac3 files. Bypass the menus (delete the menu in the graphical tab to save time). See if it will build in the new project.

HI Russ

It looks like there must be something wrong with my software or computer, because I tried what you suggested, got rid of my menus and just used tracks but same error message appeared. I tried burning old projects that worked before and now are not burning. I recently ( about 3 mos ago) upgraded my computer ( now working on Mac OSx 10.7.4, intel core i5 with DVDSP 4.2.1, FCP 6.0.6 , Compressor 3.0.5) and re-installed my FCP and DVDsp so maybe there is something wrong with my burn drive however I have burned music cds no problem...? I've also tried different settings in compressor, like prores - for QT, a .mov file, and still no luck... UGH of course I need this project by tues....

I've even tried to open a burn folder in the finder and add the prores file but this is too large to burn... Are there any other programs that burn? Is there a way to test my burn drives on this new computer?

Hi Rachel.

I'm skeptical there is anything wrong with your hardware that is producing these build errors. If the m2v and AC3 files that were output from Compressor will play (separately) in Quick Time Player, it would indicate the problem doesn't lie with Compressor and would point to DVDSP – possibly a corrupt preference.

If you don't have it, download Digital Rebellion'sPreference Manager .

It will find all the relevant preference files and safely trash them.

Then try the build process again.

Good luck.
