Q: Quicktime Pro key retrieval

Because I bought Quicktime Pro more than 18 months ago (more like three years ago), I cannot retrieve my Pro key - must I re-purchase?  Please say no... had to reformat my system due to many factors, and the Apple's instructions point to a 'downloadable software link' that does not exist on the account screen.  Very frustrating.  I read on another post that I may have to call support to retrieve it?

It depends on what you are trying to do with QT 7 Pro. If you want to composite/scale content at the track level, mask content, perform "passthrough" MPEG-4 conversions, or access the built-in effects/filters, then you would have to either find a way to retrieve your key or purchase a new one. On the other hand, if all you want to do is trim/merge content, convert files to different supported compression formats, or copy content to MOV, MP4, or AVI file containers (as may be supported) and/or adjust brightnest, saturation, contrast, volume, or add a text watermark, then you can use the free MPEG Streamclip app to access most QT 7 Pro options. GarageBand, whle more difficult to use, can also access QT 7 Pro "conversion" routines if that is all you need.
