I have an 80G classic iPod, bought in 2006. It has been working all these years with no problems. it no does not boot up. I do the menu/middle button thing and it comes on for 3 seconds, and the sad iPod icon comes on. Tried youtube but no love. Help

I have an 80G classic iPod, bought in 2006. It has been working all these years with no problems. it no does not boot up. I do the menu/middle button thing and it comes on for 3 seconds, and the sad iPod icon comes on. Tried youtube suggestions - drop it on its back, tap it hard on back - but no love.

Help!

If none of the suggestions in the Apple support document below help you can be assured that's is an issue with your iPod's hard drive. This means you'll likely need to have the iPod serviced or replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
