This IS NOT working. iPod disappears from iTunes but still appears on the desktop and the iPod still displays "Connected Eject before continuing."

It won't eject. It disappears in iTunes as it should, but the iPod still appears on the desktop, and it still displays the "Connected Eject before disconnecting." message. I've tried enabling and disabling disk use to see if it would at least let me eject from the desktop, but no luck. I've reset the iPod. I've restored the iPod. I've reboot the computer and run disk repair and repaired permissions. Still no luck.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4), Bluetooth Trackpad
