Trying to retrieve lost QT Pro key

I've been trying to retrieve a lost Quicktime Pro key through my "Order History" in "Your account" as was suggested here. Despite several purchases which I've made in the iTunes store, none of them show up here.

Any suggestions...?

Thanks,

Hans

QT 7 "Pro" activation keys can only be "purchased" online at the On line Apple Store located at the Apple web site—not through the iTunes/"App Store" app.

OK, I've managed to get to my purchase history in the iTunes app: Store --> View my account

However, the Quicktime purchase doesn't show anywhere... Is it really that hard to retrieve a QT Pro key???

As indicated above, you are accessing the wrong account/area. As to whether or not it is that hard for a recent purchaser to retrieve his or her lost or missing key, we are still trying to determine this. The only recent (less than a year) purchaser to have posted back on his experience has indicated that the information was not available on the Online Apple Store web page where Apple's latest instructions (Article HT2376, dated June 6, 2012) tell you to go. Whether this is an error on the part of the techs writing the article or a failure of the site WebMaster to include the proper informatio/link has yet to be determined. However, if you are a recent purchaser and cannot locate the information at the place to which you are directed but the most current Apple article, mypersonal recommendation is to send QT Product Feedback regarding thisd issue. If Apple receives enough complaints maybe someone at Apple will either correct the artice or correct the referenced web page. This is obviously a pet peeve for a lasrge number of serious QT 7 Pro users.

Thanks for the feedback Jon. Incidentally, I did try to retrieve my QT Pro key thu the online Apple store, however my account history there shows a blank page... I've contacted Apple support twice by email now and they keep directing me to my Netherlands Apple Support phone number. Overthere they can't do anything for me as they can't find my order number, nor can their after-sales department...

The article you refer to specifically states that it is possible to retrieve a lost QuickTime Pro key by viewing the order history on one's account page on the Apple Online Store:

It also says that you can only "retrieve a lost QuickTime Pro key if you purchased it through the web", which is what I did. However, my QT Pro registration code doesn't show in my order history (again, the history is 'empty' which is strange in itself as I have made several purchases in recent months)

I am not what you call a recent purchaser of QT Pro, but I DID pay €30 for it (in 2007 I believe) so it should be possible for me to retrieve the key.

Unfortunately it appears each country Apple Online Store keeps independent records and supposedly maintains its own online "history" database. Between the major wprld wide webs site update last year and the switch to App Store sales, it seems our QT Pro registration data history was allowed to simply "fall through the cracks."

Seems to be a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing in the the people programming/posting the atricle pages don't seem know or did not check to see if the the people supposedly maintaining the online data did theeir job and made the data available. Hopefully, if enough QT Pro users send feedback regarding this issue, Apple may become motivated to correct the issue. My only major fear is that the actual server data may have been purged before someone gets around to looking into/fixing the problem.

Same here. Like many others, my use of QT Pro pre-dates QT 7 and having purchased mutiple keys in the past following "key loss" during certain Mac OS upgrades, this has become something of a pet peeve for me since now that I know they are supposed to keep these records available they no longer seem to be doing so.
