I dropped my iphone in water and now it wont retrieve service?

I dropped my Iphone in water and it got fully submerged. For the first ten minutes it was perfectly fine and now it turns itself on and off reguarly and will not connect to 02, it says 'searching..' in the top left corner constantly. If i let it dry out for a few days will this help? Thanks for any help guys

Hi,

You have probably upgraded or fixed it by now but i can tell u what to do in the future if this occurs again

1. put your phone in un cooked rice - drains water out

2. it will probably still say searching so then go to settings, general, reset, reset all settings

3. if this still doesnt work u will restore.

4. If still no response go to the nearest apple retail shop, they might replace it for free or depending on your model u can replace it...

Maybe, but likely not. You should have powered it off immediately and put it in a bag of uncooked rice for a week or so (changing the rice periodically too as it swells from the water it is drawing out of the device). Odds are now, but using it while wet, you've shorted out something and done some permanent physical damage.

All you can do is try to dry it out and see how far you get. But using any electronic device while wet is simply asking for it to short out.
