Macbook Pro temperature after installing Mountain Lion

Hi guys,

I wonder if any of you could give me a little help.

I installed ML about one week ago and i've been noticing that my macbook pro (from mid 2009, 13inch) has been increasing. With itunes, chrome a minor download program called igetter CPU temperatures are around 65/75 and if I open anything new, normally a new page on the browser for instance, it easily reaches 80/85. What puzzles me is that CPU usage is still really low...

I have repaired some permissions with Onyx and clean up some programs i've installed so far but nothing changed this issue with high temperatures.

Is there a problem? CPU temperature is only a problem if you worry about it or it is causing the fans to run too much. Ususally the problem is some runaway process. That isn't the case with your machine but there is a new culprit these days. Chrome is known to leak video memory and actually causes kernel panics in newer machines. While your CPU is idle, your GPU probably isn't. Switch to Safari and see if the temperatures improve.

You are right as it decreased it slightly but i'm still i'm worried about the CPU temperature that never goes below 65º celsius. At around 70º it starts triggering the fan (or at least I start to hear it) and that happens almost all the time if i'm browsering and have two or three programs open. 65º is already to much, right? Correct me if I'm wrong but I find this slightly weird.
