I am getting this error when attempting to implement File Vault: "File Vault Failure: The given disk is in use by a driver." Can anyone help with this? Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem. It comes up immediately after clicking "Restart". Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is that the exact error message, or a paraphrase?

Please also include your machine spec and which version of OSX you are using, that way there won't be so many questions.

It's the exact error. I also got loads of failed messages for LV in dmesg if I tried from command line. However if you reboot, it still works. It prompted me for the disk password, booted up then prompted my for my user password. If I check the filevault status, it says encrypting.
