I recently purchased 2 Iphone 4s's - one of the will not send text messages to some people the other one has no problems sending to the same people. I have reset the networks setting on the failing iphone but it did not resolve problem. Suggestions

So, same carrier and wi-fi network but one won't send SMS messages? Does it send iMessages?
You are correct same carrier and wi-fi. The phone does send texts (imessages) to iphones. the settings in the message section are identical on working and failing phone and send sms is on.
Have you tried resetting your network settings? (Settings>General>Reset>Reset NETWORK Settings?) or resetting the phone altogether? (Hold down home button and power button at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, then release, boot back up, and try to send?)
I have reset the network settings and reset the entire phone - neither resolved the issue
Have you contacted your carrier? Perhaps one of the accounts was not set up correctly by your carrier when the 4S was added.
Yes I have conacted my carrier - they are researching the issue. I merely thought someone may have had this problem before and knew what the resolution might be.

I have the same exact problem did you ever get it fixed? I can't text my son but my wife can... Same phone ...same day
After trying all the suggestions and the carrier trouble shooting etc. - the thing that finally resoved the our problem was deleting and re-entering the contact information (just for the one specific contact) on both phones.
