ok i plug my ipod touch into my computer and it wont sync why?

If the problem is that iTunes does not see the iPod try:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Otherwise tell us more. Like what happens when you try to sync. Error message?
no error message comes up it just won't sync and if i use it for a few days and don't turn it off it shuts off by its self when i unplug it from the wall charger i have a ipod touch 4th gen and its an 8G what do i do? it takes hours for it to sync my ipod to itunes
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
ok ive tried that before it didn't really help and how much would it cost to get it fix?. would i need a new battery?.
Apple will replace the battery for $79 and exchange the iPod for a refurbished one for $99. See:
